About the family (Family Blog) 

Max is a 2 year old bundle of laughs that has spent his life in a Russian orphanage.  In Russia, children with Downs Syndrome are often given up at birth.  His adoptive mother always had a dream of adopting and when her 10 year old daughter Annie mentioned adopting a brother, this journey began.  Annie wanted to raise all the funds for the adoption but that was a huge task.  So, we (her friends) are hosting a fundraiser with donated items to help reduce the debt this family will face when they return home.  Max, Tina and Annie will be home in a little over a week.  Max will leave the orphanage for the first time in his life!

Why we are fundraising

Unfortunately, international adoptions are very expensive and total expenses are close to $45,000.  We are going to hold a “Thank You” fundraiser. 

As a Thank You, for every $5 you donate you will recieve an entry into a drawing for a chance to win.  For example, $50 gets you 10 entries.  After donating, if you mention this giveaway on Twitter, Facebook or your blog you will get an additional entry.  Please leave a comment below so we can include this entry and state how you mentioned our giveaway.

All donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE and go directly through Reece’s Rainbow, an amazing non-profit organization.

The fine print

This fundraiser will end on March 20, 2011 at 1pm EST.   All of the prizes were donated and this is not sponsored by any manufacturer.  Once the winners are picked they will be posted on this blog.  By donating you give us the right to post your name in the event that you are a winner.  If you wish to remain anonymous, please send us an email.  Donation amounts will be used for calculating entries and will not be published.  The winner of each item has 14 days to contact us to claim their prize.  For a non-donating entry, email us with your name and address.  All donations go through Reece’s Rainbow (RR) directly, a registered 501(c)3 charity and are tax deductible.  Everyone may donate but the giveaway is for US residents only.  In the event that more money is raised than the current outstanding expenses, funds will go towards another waiting child at RR.
